Step 01

Adding a new user

When a new employee is added in Deputy, a SafetyCulture user is provisioned with the correct seat type and group memberships from their Deputy areas and training modules.

Step 02

Mirroring locations

Deputy locations are mirrored to SafetyCulture sites. When a user is added to or removed from a Deputy location, their site assignment in SafetyCulture follows on the next sync.

Step 03

Group membership

Deputy areas and training modules are mapped to SafetyCulture groups. Promotions, role changes and cross-training assignments propagate automatically — no admin tickets to chase down.

Step 04

Removing a user

When an employee is archived in Deputy, their SafetyCulture account is deactivated. Their inspection history, completed courses and audit trail stay intact for compliance.

How often does the sync run?

Once per day at 12:00am AEST. The daily cadence gives you a buffer to correct any errors in Deputy before they propagate.

Does the integration support Deputy permission levels?

Yes — you can map Deputy permission levels to SafetyCulture seat types (Full, Lite, Guest). Most customers default to Lite for frontline staff and Full for managers.

Can I keep SafetyCulture groups that are not tied to Deputy?

Yes. Only groups that mirror Deputy areas or training modules are managed by the integration. Anything you create manually in SafetyCulture is left alone.

Is the sync bidirectional?

No. The integration is one-way from Deputy into SafetyCulture. We recommend treating Deputy as your source of truth for staff and location data.
